Chingri Macher Malaikari

Chingri Macher Malaikari:

Chingri Macher maliakari is one of the popular Bengali dishes.Chingri is a Bengali name of prawn.This is a traditional Bengali preparation of prawns with coconut cream.It's one of the creamy and delicious recipe.

Serves:3 Serving

Ingredients For Chingri Macher Malaikari:

400 grams Prawns(large)
4 tablespoon oil
1 onion
4 garlic cloves
1-inch ginger
4 green chilies
1 cinnamon stick
6 cloves
4 green cardamom
1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon garam masala
1/2 teaspoon red chili powder
1 cup coconut cream/milk
1 tablespoon ghee
few coriander leaves for garnish

Step by step method of Chingri Macher Malaikari:

1. Clean the prawns and separate the outer shell of prawns.

2. Now add 1/4 tsp turmeric powder and 1/2 tsp salt for marinating.Leave it for 10-15 minutes.

3. Prepare a paste of onion,ginger, and garlic in mixture grinder.

4. heat oil for 3-4 minutes in a kadhai and fry the prawns.until the prawns turns golden fry them.Afer that keep them aside in a bowl.

5. In the same oil or if you want then change the oil,add cinnamon,cardamom,cloves and bay leaves.fry them till they appear golden.

6. Now add paste of onion,ginger and garlic and fry until the paste turns golden.

7. after that add Remaining turmeric powder,chili powder,salt and garam masala and saute them well.

8. Now add coconut cream and 1/2 cup water and bring it to a boil.

9. Cut the green chilies and add it to gravy along with the fried prawns.

10. Mix well the mixture and allow it to cook for 5-6 minutes.After that garnish with chopped coriander leaves and serve hot Chingri Macher Malaikari.
