Katala Macher Jhol its English name is Katla fish Curry.This is one of the spicy and tangy gravy of fish.It's a combination of lots of spices,which make it more delicious recipe.Aar fish fried and cook in a ginger and tomato based gravy.Instead of Katla fish, you can also use Aar or rohu. This gravy is usually served with white rice.Also, try this Chingri Macher Malaikari and Shorse Mach

Serves:3 Serving

Ingredients for Katla Macher Jhol:

6 pieces of Katla fish
1 teaspoon turmeric powder
4 tablespoon mustard oil
1 teaspoon cumin powder
4 green chilies
1 teaspoon coriander powder
1 chopped
1/4 teaspoon cumin seeds
2 teaspoon ginger garlic paste

Step by step method of Katla Macher Jhol:

1. Marinate the fish pieces with turmeric powder and salt.

2. Heat oil in a kadhai for 3-4 minutes.Add fish pieces and fry them.

3. Until fish turns golden fry them.After that remove them to a plate and keep aside.

4. In the same hot oil add cumin seed and cut tomatoes.Saute them for until tomatoes becomes soft.

5. After that add cumin powder and coriander powder and stir well.Now add garlic ginger paste and green chilies and mix well.

6. Saute them until the raw smell of ginger garlic paste is goes away.

7. Now add 1 cup water to the mixture and cook for 2-3 minutes.

8. Now add salt and fried fish pieces and mix well.

9. Allow it to cook for 5-10 minutes.After that turn off the flame and serve Katla Macher Jhol with White rice.
